The following are the 7 best tips to be considered before buying :
  1. The shape
  2. The slope
  3. Soil Quality
  4. The angle
  5. Roads nearby
  6. Junctions
  7. Surroundings of the Plot.

 For the shape, the following points need to keep in mind.

  1.  The shape of the plot should have only four corners.
  2.  Right angles should be there near four corners
  3. The ratio of Breadth: Length in a rectangular Plot should not exceed 1:2
  4. West & East side direction of the plot should be at 90 degrees. The slight deviation of 10-15 degrees is acceptable
  5. square or rectangle are the best shapes of plots of land for home construction

Extended Plots:

Though Plots with right-angle corners (90 degrees) are best.
 But plot with extension in a certain direction has proven good results.

Given below details about few extended plots:

a. “T” Junction is not good & should not buy.
b.Plots at dead ends, It is better not to buy them.
c.If the plot is narrower at the entrance and wider at its rear, it is good but opposite is not good
d. Triangular, oval, round to be avoided for home construction.
e.On the diamond shape of the plots, the house should not construct, with the corner facing north.
f. Plot with L-shaped is inauspicious and should not buy.
g. Cuts at corners are not good. Better to buy the missing corners.

1. Square

This shape have all corners straight, with 90 degrees and this shape is very auspicious, brings, health, wealth and happiness.

2. Rectangle

 This shape is good and auspicious. Brings all-round prosperity.

3. Circular

This is good for constructing circularly shaped buildings.

4. Wheel-shaped

 If the house was constructed on this shaped plot, the owner will lose financial status and faces poverty.

5. Odd or irregular

 If a house was constructed on this, it causes all type of problems and poverty.

6. Bhadarshan

 This is not good for residence. This can be used for a special type of buildings like government buildings only.

7. Long bar

 If used for cattle shed, this is not a good place.

8. Cart

 This causes poverty, even imprisonment.

9. Damru

 This is a tiny musical damru shape with a deep bend in the middle. There will be having eyesight problems. If the house was constructed on this shape.

10. Visham bahu

This will involve inmates in court litigations, affects health, even drives them to poverty.

11. Drum or dholak

 This will cause loss of the wife and other female members of the family.

12. Hand pan shape

 This will create a loss of cattle, wealth etc.

13. Varahan Mukhi

This is a pig-shaped plot.
If constructed on this, it causes the death of brothers and relatives.

14. Turtle

If construction on this, It may cause owner and family members imprisonment, untimely death and murders.

15. Bow shaped

Inmates of this plot may face the fear of theft, attack by enemies etc.

16. Muslakar (long oval with a cut on one side)

It may bring enmity and loss of friendship.

17. Hexagon

Hexagon is good if all other principles of Vastu are followed.
For the family members, It is helpful in the progress.

18. Elliptical

Elliptical type may cause a loss in many ways like women, respect,money, women.

19. Polygonal

Polygonal type should be converted into a rectangle.
